05/12/2008 - Towle Theatre offers Basic Sight Singing Workshop
NIETF Member Towle Theatre is offering Basic Sight Singing Workshop (for people who think they can’t read music). The two day workshop will be conducted by the Towle’s Director of Music Programs, Valerie Webdell on Saturday, June 14 & 21 from 10am to Noon.

05/10/2008 - Dunes Summer Theatre announces Children & Youth Theatre auditions
NIETF Member theatre DUNES SUMMER THEATRE announce auditions for their Children & Youth program. The production is ONCE UPON A WOLF that will be presented to the public July 31st - August 3rd. Other Summer Camps are available for youth: "Introduction to the Theatre Arts" Ages: 5-7 year olds ; "Building Character Camp" Ages: 8-12 year olds ; "Teens On The Scenes" Ages: 13-18 year olds.

04/21/2008 - NIETF Actors, Actresses, Directors, Designers, Producers and Participants in the production of theatre;
This year at the Gala we are hoping that most of us are far enough into the digital age, that if you are one of the final five nominees, you could send a digital photo to NIETF for inclusion in the visual wall presentation of same. Head shots for actors are preferred, for Directors and Designers and Producing theatres where applicable, a shot from the show nominated may be sent. Be aware we may need to edit or enhance for use. We will provide specifics for formatting, image size and where to send very soon. Thank you!

04/20/2008 - SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION EXTENDED
The D.J. & Rose Nidetz Scholarship Fund $500 scholarship is available for college students pursuing a major in the arts.  Applicants must meet all criteria and complete an application.  Applications must be received by June 15, 2008.

03/31/2008 - Hammond Community Theatre is accepting play proposals.
Hammond Community Theatre is accepting play proposals from Directors later this year, and next year. HCT has one opening this November for the Black Box Theatre at Calumet College, and one for next year. HCT also has openings later this year and next year at Beatnik's on Conkey.
