III. Open Forum Lisa explained she had listed some topics on the agenda and she hoped for an open discussion or at least to let the public know what the board was working on. IV. Board Plans for the upcoming year The board serves on a calendar year whereas as the viewers serve Sept Aug. a.) Regional auditionsAn open audition, not open to the public, to be held at IUN. The audition would be a 3-minute cutting from a play and/or 16 bars of a song. This would be a chance for an actor to audition once for many different directors. It would be publicized on the website. b.) MembershipCrucial to have support from the theatres. A previous board approved the concept that ‘participating’ theatres would be required to pay a fee. This is different than supporting members. The fee has never been levied. c.) Policy & Procedures manualWritten but the format needs to be changed. Larry requested any P & P manuals from existing organizations. A few were volunteered. d.) Viewable Shows & their Limits?42 viewable shows last year. There are 2-3 theatre organizations potentially asking to become “members” which could add as many as 15 more shows to view each year. That would take the total to 57 shows. A discussion ensued regarding ideas and options. e.) Development, Marketing & Outreach3 committees. Talked about the change in the logo and who was the chair of the committees. Development, Heather ClarkMarketing, Karin Albright (website tho was Gary Jones and turning it over to Karin Albright)Outreach, Ed Griffith. Ed Griffith is working on a scholarship committee. V. The meeting was adjourned at noon. Respectively submitted, Kim Bernstein Recording Secretary 2005 BACK TO MAIN LIST OF MINUTES |
