As You Like It is one of Shakespeare’s best-loved comedies! Wit and romance abound in this colorful and musical play, as a variety of couples meet, battle, and fall in love in the Forest of Arden.

Casting:
Character Overview:
Rosalind: a resourceful young woman out of favor with Fortune
Celia: her devoted and quick-witted cousin
Duke Frederick, Celia’s father: a usurping duke, currently in power
Duke Ferdinand, Rosalind’s father: the usurped duke, currently in exile
Orlando: a noble young man who was never in favor with Fortune
Oliver: his spiteful older brother
Adam: their elderly loyal servant
Corin: a middle-aged (or older) shepherd
Silvius: a youthful shepherd in foolish love
Phoebe: his scornful shepherdess
Audrey: a saucy wench (of nearly any age)
The following five roles can be nearly any age – gender may also be open to interpretation:
Touchstone: the court fool
Jacques: a melancholy wit
Amiens: a jolly minstrel
Charles: a champion wrestler
LeBeau: the master of the revelries
And assorted foresters, nobles, servants, peasants, and single-scene characters.
We need men and women of all ages - and we have large roles and small roles. So if you're new to theatre, or new to Shakespeare, don't worry! We'll make it fun! New faces welcome!
