 Much Ado About Nothing, a comedy by William Shakespeare July 20-22, 27, 29, 2007 directed by Dana Zurbriggen One of Shakespeare's most enduring comedies, Much Ado About Nothing has something for everyone--intricate and clever word play, physical comedy, intrigue and evil, love and romance. The basic plot involves the inhabitants of a wealthy estate and a group of soldiers on some R&R passing the time until Hero and Claudio's impending wedding. What better choice could they make than to try and make a match of the intelligent and headstrong Benedick and Beatrice who have each sworn off such foolishness as love? Add to the mix the angry Don John and his intention of spoiling any joy he can, and even the happiest of lovers find themselves in harm's way...at least until the town watch can save the day! Come and see this wonderful production in an exciting new venue, the courtyard of Crown Point High School (directions below). Designed as a mini Greek theater, this outdoor space will offer a delightful Shakespeare-in-the-Park experience. Bring a lawn chair or a ground cushion to settle in for an evening of theater under the stars. (If it should rain, bring the same chairs and cushions, and we'll set it all up indoors instead!)
