SYNOPSIS: "Witness for the Prosecution" is a classic play by the great Agatha Christie. The 1957 film version, directed by Billy Wilder and starring Charles Laughton, Marlene Dietrich, Tyrone Power and Elsa Lanchester, was nominated for 6 Oscars.
In the play, likeable young Leonard Vole is accused of the murder of a rich middle-aged woman, and it's up to the unstoppable Sir Wilfrid Robarts to prove his innocence. Leonard's case is made even more difficult when his foreign-born wife Romaine, who represents his only alibi, decides to turn against her incredulous husband and sells him out, as a witness for the prosecution.
