It's the first Christmas for a family who recently lost their son in a freak accident. The son's widowed wife is invited to the family gathering with Mom & Dad, two brothers, the spouse of one of the brothers and their son (about 12 yrs old). Mom has been dying of cancer and has remarkably gone into remission. The story explores the emotional difficulties of each family member as they try to figure out how to have the holiday with each other--what to say, what not to say. It is at times comical and at times sad and reminiscent as we watch this family deal with not just death of a loved one, but their own idiosyncrasies and moral dilemmas.
